West Plains, Missouri Update [+ Local Church Connection]

One of the most meaningful ways God provides for His servants is through His people, the church. I have certainly experienced this after building a relationship with His Place House of Worship and am excited to see the fruit God will bring of it.

What a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work that we can find instant fellowship with people we have never met before, on the other side of the world.

Nathan, the associate pastor at His Place House of Worship, is a perfect example of this.

As you know, God has unexpectedly brought me to West Plains, Missouri to continue my work with The Discovery Bible Project.

While this work is primarily administrative, I knew it would be important to look for in-person opportunities with local pastors and churches.

Surprisingly, God opened a door with the very first church I visited, His Place House of Worship, and since arriving, has built a meaningful relationship between myself and the associate pastor, Nathan.

Nathan and I are now meeting weekly to work on implementing the two discipleship tracks I have been sharing with you about: Discipleship That Informs and Discipleship That Activates.

These meetings are also proving to be a valuable time to encourage one-another in ministry and for me to learn from him and his years of pastoral experience.

God keeps giving new relationships and I am genuinely speechless as to how satisfying these provisions have been.

Whether it’s YFC Australia, Pastor Nathan, or several others that I can't mention now, I am grateful to experience the fulfilment of Mark 10:29–30.

29 Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. Colossians 1:28-29, ESV.
